I am a 16 year old girl. I plan on getting lasik sometime in the future. I want to know…
1- how much it costs. with/out insurance
2- level of pain or discomfort
3- safety, risks and complications (people have said that lasik is bad because the flap never fully heals- is true?)
4- if you had lasik, would you recommend it?
I am of lower class. I work 40-60 hours a week. I have no health insurance because my job does not offer it. I have no current bills and was wondering how much lasik eye surgery costs and if their are any special programs out their for me. My glasses and contacts constantly affect my work and my hobbies, I can’t drive without them, not to mention the money I spend on glasses and contacts is a pain. Has anyone tried the surgery? Did it work for you? Any and all information will be greatly appreciated! Please help me!!!!
My LASIK procedure is gonna cost around 4 grand per eye (custom LASIK), and I have a pretty comprehensive health insurance plan (federal government) which I am a dependent on. Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield of Virginia. Is there any way to get them to help pay for the cost of LASIK? Any route that will help me? I really need LASIK as because of glasses and contacts I routinely get eye viruses, but my health insurance company doesnt believe it, even with a doctors notice (glasses cause my eyes to itch etc.) Please help me!
My insurance benefit says 85 % of charge for LASIK procedure , does this mean i have to pay 85 % ???
I want to go for Lasik surgery. How much will it cost and will my insurance pay for any of it? Is it worth it?
(Or contact lenses?) I know I’ll have to have my eyesight evaluated to see if I’m a good candidate. I feel that my eyesight has deteriorated quiclky over last couple of years; and I’m only 22. I have no health insurance, so I havent had an eye exam in a while. I’m seeing more and more poorly as time goes on & I’ve thought of financing the cost of LASIK or just saving up. I’m just not sure if they perform LASIK on people who’ve never had eyeglasses/ contact lenses prescribed to them. Do you know? What are my options? Any advice?
I’m getting LASIK eye surgery tomorrow, and while researching the procedure I ran across some interesting data. The cost of LASIK has decreased ~70% since its inception, despite significant technological breakthroughs that make it more effective and less risky. Meanwhile general health care costs have increased at an annual rate double, or more than double, the rate of inflation for the last two decades. The only difference that I can see is that LASIK is not covered by insurance plans, and hence the doctors who perform it must compete for business. And compete they do! I hear advertisements daily from at least a half dozen providers in my town of 150,000. My initial appointment was free, they saw me right at my appointment time, and quickly and efficiently diagnosed what procedure was best for me. They offer full financing, although with the PayFlex plan I have through work I can defer the cost of the procedure over the entire year tax free! My primary care physician, meanwhile, kept my wife waiting over 45 minutes the other day despite her being the only patient at the office. With the health care debate raging, is there anything we can learn from the LASIK people?
Does anyone know or have been to Dr. Dello Russo for lasik? What’s the cost? What kind of insurance does he accept?
And did insurance cover all or any of it?
I hear ads on the radio and see billboards all the time saying things like, "starting at 9 per eye" and such. That seems very reasonable, but is it for real?

I guess there are other forms of vision correction but LASIK is the only one I an familiar with. I don’t have insurance so I would have to pay for it on my own (not a problem)
I live in Texas, No insurance.
Just looking for a ballpark figure.
I have a minor astigmatism and I am tired of wearing and paying for glasses
