I’m a canadate for both but there is a huge cost difference. 2000 more per eye. Doctor says the success rate is really good for me with lasik but I am in the 3-5 percent of people who might need glasses again someday
I’m 22 years old and I’ve had glasses since I was 10 or 11. I really want contacts but every time I try, they bother my eyes. I have a slight astigmatism in both eyes and both eyes are also more dry than they should be, though I don’t have dry eye. When I tried Acuvue, they were too small on the left eye and kept slipping. I tried another brand that just bugged my eye. At the same time, I’m a little hesitant to do lasik because of the cost and risks. Does anyone know some good contact brands I could try, or have any advice about the lasik?
I am of lower class. I work 40-60 hours a week. I have no health insurance because my job does not offer it. I have no current bills and was wondering how much lasik eye surgery costs and if their are any special programs out their for me. My glasses and contacts constantly affect my work and my hobbies, I can’t drive without them, not to mention the money I spend on glasses and contacts is a pain. Has anyone tried the surgery? Did it work for you? Any and all information will be greatly appreciated! Please help me!!!!
My LASIK procedure is gonna cost around 4 grand per eye (custom LASIK), and I have a pretty comprehensive health insurance plan (federal government) which I am a dependent on. Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield of Virginia. Is there any way to get them to help pay for the cost of LASIK? Any route that will help me? I really need LASIK as because of glasses and contacts I routinely get eye viruses, but my health insurance company doesnt believe it, even with a doctors notice (glasses cause my eyes to itch etc.) Please help me!
how well does lasik work, whats the failure rate, cost and where is a good place to get it done? please help me b/c i am so sick of glasses and contacts =(
Before, my eyes were both grade 20/350. I couldnt drive or watch movies or even read the blackboard without squinting even when seated up front in class. I had to use my glasses/contact lenses.
So, i decided to have LASIK done. It cost me 26,500 Philippine pesos (U.S.$ 530) all in all, both eyes. This clinic used to charge over P40,000 (0) for both eyes, but they had a Holiday promo. The more popular hospitals would charge P50,000 to 75,000 (00-1500) for both eyes. Despite the lowered price, my friend who also had his LASIK at the same clinic before the promo price said the whole procedure was the same. (Though his blurring cleared only 30 days after LASIK) The clinic didnt skimp on anything (Surgeon, Meds and Machine Calibration Frequency were the same.)
A few days after the surgery, the ophthalmologist said both eyes achieved 20/20 vision. (I went to an optometrist for a second opinion to make sure those were my visual acuity grades, and they were indeed.) But I noticed that i still had blurring 2 months after LASIK. I notice a delay in recognizing faces from 15-20 feet away (i need to blink first to overcome the blurring) and the same is true if i read from a distance.
The ophthalmologist and optometrist both say its because i have less lacrimation/tear production, thus dryness, due to the surgery and it could take another month or two for my lacrimal glands to function as they used to before LASIK.
For those who had LASIK done, how long did it take for the dryness to subside? Do you also wake up in the morning needing a few drops of lubricating eye-mo?
I have been doing some research on LASIK, and I wanted to get some personal perspectives from those who have had the surgery. Anything and everything you can think of to offer would be greatly appreciated! I am nearsighted with a slight astigmatism in my left eye. I wear soft contacts and glasses and am very interested in LASIK as a cost alternative. Thanks in advance!
You can Google for websites of people who share their experience, many of them are negative. Lasik doesn’t give vision as good as glasses but costs 00+ and is high risk. Why get lasik now and not wait for better technology?
I can see and drive, I just need contacts or glasses to do so. Has anyone who was legally blind ever had lasik? Did it work? How much did it cost? I live in Nevada. Does it hurt? I’ve heard that it doesn’t, but does it? And lastly, does anyone know the odds or chances of this type of surgery to make me permenantly blind? Thanks.
i want know cost of this eye treatment also tell me if there any risk after undergoing lasik .i want to stop wearing glasses permanently my eye power is -0.5. if any person who had undergone eye surgery plz share ur exp
I am 25, and I want to get rid of wearing glasses all together. I think that they block my beauty; no wearing them will definately boost my confidence. Give me some feedback and let me know what you guys think.
I am seventeen and have terrible vision with a very rare astigmatism. I live in northern Texas so I’m not positive what the price would be.
The cost of my contacts and glasses are really a hassle because my astigmatism is so rare. My contacts actually run around 0.00 every three months!
So if anyone could inform me AT ALL. I would greatly appreciate it!
Thanks (:
I’m 14, I’ve worn glasses for 3 years. I don’t mind wearing them but sometimes it kind of bothers if I see a pair of sunglasses I really like but I can’t wear them. I’ve considered getting transitions but I’m not sure. I don’t know how much they are yet. I know the cost of lasik.
Anyway, am I too young to get it? If I’m not, do you think I should?
Thanks. ![]()

I’ve been wanting lasik eye surgery for a long while now coz I’m so sick of contacts and glasses. Is there monthly payments or payment in full? And will getting lasik get rid of astigmatism, or lazy eyes as well??
