How much does dermabrasion/lasik of the face cost? Which is better for extensive acne scarring?

   Dermabrasion treatments generally run for 100 dollars a treatment, but a friend of mine who had a treatment of that done said the effects wore off after a couple months and another treatment was needed. I have personally gotten laser surgery to treat skin discoloration propblems and these lasers also can help with acne scarring (although, if done incorrectly they can cause scarring as well). The cost of this depends on which laser the doctor determines is best for your skin and how many treatments you’ll need to get rid of the scars. For half of my face each treatment is about $300. There is another treatment out called Photodynamic Therapy that is especially effective for acne and acne scarring. The doctor puts a solution of levulon (a sort of acid) on your skin and then you sit under a Blue-U light. The levulon seeps into your skin and acts like pac-man, getting rid of the skin discolorations and scars from acne while fixing your pores to stop, or significantly lessen, acne from occurring. Then your face is red and swollen for a couple days and it peels for about a week, but from the photos I’ve seen from people who have had this treatment–it really works. Doctors can also do laser treatment on top of the photodynamic therapy if the condition of your skin calls for it. Sometimes this package includes a few dermabrasion treatments. This will run you about $1500 dollars a treatment, I believe…
